Donald Merrow Jr. 1948 - 2008 MANCHESTER Donald J. Merrow Jr. died June 11, 2008, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, following a brief illness. Born in Danby on Feb. 6, 1948., the only child of Donald J. and Agnes Williams Merrow, his childhood years were spent in Westboro, Mass., where he graduated from Westboro High School in 1966. He continued undergraduate studies in Massachusetts prior to trail blazing cross-country and working in the Boston area. Don eventually returned to the Green Mountains, most recently Manchester Center, where he worked in sales and landscaping for which he found extreme pleasure. Don was mild mannered, had a great sense of humor, and was a valued friend by many. His happiest moments were rooting for his beloved Red Sox and enjoying this experience with his son, Jesse. He leaves his son, Jesse J. Merrow of Belgrade, Maine; his daughter, Krystal H. Merrow of New York City; his longtime partner and best friend, Heather Joy Crosse of Manchester Center, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, which include his five beloved cats from which he derived a lot of pleasure. FUNERAL NOTICE: A private celebration of Don's life will be the scattering of his ashes in the ocean off the coast of Maine, an area he forever loved. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Second Chance Animal Center, c/o BREWSTER FUNERAL HOME, P.O. Box 885, Manchester, VT 05255.
